The winter finally arrives in Barga

Well it was two months late but finally the snow arrived on Barga. Last year there was snow on the ground on the 24th November, this year it has so far been a very warm winter and only today did the temperature stared dropping down to the seasonal norm and at 2 am this morning it finally started to snow on Barga. The award winning photographer O'Connor was out and about until 4 am trying to capture that first moments of this years winter. You can see below how he got on

You would have thought that at 4 am on a snowy January morning in Barga the streets would have been deserted … not so, up at the Duomo he ran into two other photographers out with tripods and cameras and in the Giardino area of Barga he managed to photograph a group of revelers who were on their way home who cheered on the snow plough as it wound its way up the hill to Tiglio and Reniao. All in all, a busy night.
