Tutti i Toscani Mondiali by Enrico Pace
l volume è un omaggio al genio calcistico della Toscana. Una carrellata di personaggi che hanno lasciato il segno nel calcio internazionale, raggiungendo il massimo obiettivo: la partecipazione ai campionati del mondo. Un viaggio nella storia del pallone che parte dagli eventi per raccontarne i protagonisti. Per rivivere quelle emozioni che solo il gioco piú bello del mondo sa regalare.
La storia delle diciotto edizioni dei mondiali, con una ampia appendice dedicata a Germania 2006 (una vittoria tanto bella quanto inattesa che è stata un forte stimolo per la realizzazione di questo libro), è il pretesto per ricordare le storie dei toscani che hanno calcato i più importanti palcoscenici internazionali: da Egisto Pandolfini a Marcello Lippi, da Benito Lorenzi ad Andrea Barzagli.
Il volume si presenta come una vera e propria enciclopedia del calcio toscano, suddivisa in 5 sezioni:
L’Italia e i mondiali (breve storia mondiale per mondiale dalla prima edizione del 1930 a quella del 2002 completa dei tabellini delle finali);
L’Italia a Germania 2006 (storia, tabellini di tutte le partite e schede di approfondimento dell’ultimo mondiale tedesco che ha visto vittoriosi gli azzurri);
Toscani in azzurro (tutti i toscani che hanno partecipato alle fasi finali dei mondiali);
Toscani d’”adozione” (quei giocatori che hanno partecipato alle fasi finali dei mondiali e che pur non essendo nati in Toscana hanno legato le proprie sorti sportive alla nostra regione, come ad esempio Valcareggi e Antognoni);
I grandi assenti (tutti quei giocatori toscani che, pur essendo grandi campioni, per vari motivi non hanno avuto modo di disputare le fasi finali della Coppa del Mondo);
Gli altri di Toscana (tutti quei giocatori toscani che hanno disputato almeno una partita in azzurro).

- Quentin Compson : Yes, Ma'am. It would be King Lear I believe, an allusion to the fool (and to Lear himself). But there is a more recent connection between Yokapatawpha and the Coldfields with a Biblical reference -- Absalom -- rather than the Shakespearean one to which you allude.
- poetry : Miss Coldfield, considered poetess laureate of Yoknapatawpha County, may simply be quoting Shakespeare, I do believe.
