International birthday party in Barga

OK, so its not really done to ask a woman’s age so let’s just say that Joy Thompson from Australia is this week celebrating a “significant” birthday shall we? She decided to fly to Barga on the other side of the world and invite a few friends to help her celebrate. This evening at L’Osteria in Piazza Angelio , fifteen of her friends joined her for her birthday party. Her friends came from Australia, Italy and England as well as friends from Spain include the artist Richard Wood, (his site is here ) who has been working sketching in Barga Vecchia for a series of paintings which will be subsequently finished and exhibited in Spain or England.

Hello everyone,
the other day the realestate agent came at home to check some stuff, and while talking she asked me where i was from and when i answered she told me she just come back from Italy. “Nice!” i told her, “and where have you been?” i said, “near Lucca” she said, in a place called “Barga.”
“Barga!!! There is where i come from”, and i showed her my desktop picture downloaded from barganews, and that was exactly her view in the time spent in Barga. She was there to celebrate her friend’s international b’day party. “Isn’t that funny!” she said after we kept talking of who seh met there and where she went, etc.
The world is so Big, but so small!
