Paintings by Mario Lemmi
Mario Lemmi nasce a Castelnuovo di Garfagnana nel 1948. Dipinge dai primi anni '70 ma solo oggi, dopo un periodo di conflittualità interiore, superato dalla maggiore maturità artistica conseguita, ha trovato un nuovo stimolo ed un nuovo coraggio che lo hanno portato fino a qui.
Mario Lemmi is back once again in Barga after a gap of 6 years (2001 exhibition here) to show his latest paintings in the Gallery Comunale.
Interestingly he has included some of his older paintings from the first exhibition so that we can see just how far along the road he has progressed in the intervening years. Subdued tones combined with some stronger drawing in the latest paintings have combined to notch up the emotional scale and impact. Exhibition on until the 26th August.
La sua pittura non è una pittura per i gusti facili, ma una pittura colta per intenditori e per coloro che amano impegnarsi nei meandri delle arti figurative, una sintassi nuova ma che ricorda la pittura espressionistica Tedesca dei primi '900. La pittura di quei pittori che per le loro opere d'avanguardia, espressionistiche, surreali, ancestrali, urlatrici, furono esclusi dalla società conservatrice tedesca e dai dettami della politica di Hitler. I colori bruni, i rossi e i neri si sposano egregiamente nelle impalcature generali ed i personaggi ti fissano, ti cercano, t'implorano, vogliono parlare con il fruitore a tu per tu.
