Outside you could be forgiven for thinking that Barga had returned to mediaeval times as the contestants and camp followers of the mediaeval Crossbow competition went about their business but inside the Duomo another ceremony was taking place, and this had its roots not 500 years but more than 2000 years ago – baptism.
Six babies were baptised this morning by Don Stefano. A packed Duomo watched on as Emanuele, Rachele, Matteo, Tommaso, Noemi and Gabriele were given their names.
