Mayor celebrates 60 years on the planet

The Mayor of Barga, Umberto Sereni celebrated his first 60 years on the planet in typical exuberant style with a festa in the piazza complete with music, food and wine but there was a surprise waiting for him – yet another opening, yet more ribbon to cut.
Colleagues in the Palazzo Pancrazi had organised a surprise exhibition containing many of the posters, leaflets and articles written about the events which had been organised in Barga since he became mayor.
After the official opening, the centre of attention moved back into the piazza.
Two long tables had been set out in the sunshine in a joint collaboration between Aristo’s bar and Cafe Capretz … sparkling wine, salami and the finest cheeses and all to the backdrop of live music supplied by Hamish, Fin and Sarah – traditional Scottish and Aristodemo and friends – fine traditional “Aristomusic“.
