Giovane Orchestra Sonara

The posters were up in the city today bearing the logo of the Operabarga Festival for the first time this year.

Does this mean that the Operabarga Festival 2008 has officially opened ?
Difficult to know as nobody seems to be 100% sure about festival dates for 2008 and even their press office seems to be working on a “only need to know basis”

Definite information is hard to find (article here) Their program for this year only leaking out two weeks before the first event.

Whatever, this afternoon found the Giovane Orchestra Sonara in the Teatro dei Differenti for a concert of music from Handel, Vivaldi and Gershwin featuring Ana Maria Goldenzwieg on violino, Jonathan Brandani on cembalo and all under the capable baton of the Direttore Paolo Tommasi.

mentions a World premiere of Andrea Chenna’s work on Gerusalemme liberata on the 27th,28th and 29th July … none of which appears to be on the program that was published last week … ?
