L'edicola in Piazza Angelio

The long term musical experiment of traditional Italian popular music that has been running for many years under the stern eye and baton of Jack Rizzardi once more gave of their all (first outing here and second showing here) with a fine public performance in Piazza Angelio. The front line once again featuring the Quote Rosa.

When people think of Italy they often think of the sound of a mandolin but in fact this instrument is in steady decline as less and less musicians pick it up – as the popularity of the mandolin has declined so the guitar goes into ascendancy but not so in Barga.

The name Quote Rosa and refers to the fact that six … no wait … seven of the mandolins being played in this group are played by women (with another two busy training and ready to join the group shortly)

A mixed repertoire of songs this evening brought enthusiastic rounds of applause from a packed Piazza Angelio much to the delight of the assembled musicians and even the stern Jack Rizzardi broke out into a broad smile in between the songs while he rustled his papers and tapped his baton.

The night also belonged to the two Andreas – Andrea Gonnella the vocalist, who’s rendition of “O Sole Mio” brought the crowd to its feet and Andrea Guzzoletti who’s alleged involvement at the mixing desk had the crowd covering their ears during a particularly severe feedback storm.

Quote rosa: la rappresentanza elettorale femminile

Febbraio 2006. Favorire la partecipazione delle donne alla vita politica del paese e garantirne l’adeguata rappresentanza nelle sedi istituzionali. È il cuore del disegno di legge che è stato approvato a larga maggioranza dal Senato della Repubblica nel corso della seduta dell’8 febbraio 2006 ma che non è passato al voto della Camera per mancanza dei tempi tecnici a causa della fine della Legislatura.

Il decreto legge era stato approvato dal Consiglio dei Ministri il 18 novembre 2005 ed era stato rinviato in Commissione Affari Costituzionali nel corso della seduta del Senato in data 24 gennaio 2006.

Il disegno di legge n. 3660 voleva garantire e rendere effettiva un’adeguata rappresentazione delle donne nella composizione delle liste elettorali della Camera dei Deputati e del Senato della Repubblica.

Quando si parla di quote rosa si parla quindi del numero di candidati di sesso femminile che dovrebbero essere inserite, quindi candidate, nelle liste elettorali valide per le elezioni. Il testo della legge approvato dal Consiglio dei Ministri prevedeva che nelle liste elettorali sia candidata una donna ogni tre uomini, in particolare “nessuno dei due sessi può essere rappresentato in misura superiore ai due terzi del totale dei candidati” come si legge nel ddl n. 3051 presentato il 19 luglio 2004.
