Last night was held the first council meeting under the new Mayor of Barga Marco Bonini. A packed Palazza Pancrazi saw the new members of the council sworn in for a short first council meeting which opened with a speech by the new mayor setting out some of the tasks that his administration would be looking to achieve over the next 5 years. The common theme running through his speech and then all the speeches which followed was one of collaboration – United we stand, divided we fall. The  Giunta* seated with the Sindaco comprised Alberto Giovanetti  (elected vice sindaco) Gabriele Giovannetti, Nicola Boggi, Gianpiero Passini, Vittorio Salotti, Giorgio Salvateci,  and assessore esterno, Renzo Pia

*La giunta è un organo collegiale composto dal sindaco, che ne è anche presidente, e da un numero di assessori, stabilito dallo statuto comunale, che non deve essere superiore a un terzo (arrotondato) del numero dei consiglieri comunali (computando a tale fine anche il sindaco) e comunque non superiore a sedici (art. 47 del d. lgs. 267/2000).
