It was a one off event nine years ago which has since developed into a regular annual tradition. The Banda Musicale Luporini of Barga meeting up with and exchanged musically with another brass band. Last year it was the The Ass. Musicale G.Rossini from Pieve Fosciana in Garfagnana.This year the guest band was from somewhat further afield – the Banda Musicale di Tessera C.C.R.T. (Venezia) who arrived in the Piazza Salvi in Barga Vecchia in fine marching style. Speeches were made and gifts exchanged and then the real serious business of the evening started – the music. An evening concert in the piazza where the two bands played their favourite pieces to each other and of course, to an appreciative audience seated around them.

Banda Musicale di Tessera C.C.R.T. (Venezia) – La banda di Tessera, unico sodalizio musicale in attività della terraferma veneziana, è sorta nel 1923 e tra momenti di intensa attività alternati, ad altri, di forzata pausa a causa del secondo conflitto mondiale o imposti da situazioni di ristrettezza finanziaria, è arrivata indenne fino ai giorni nostri.

Attualmente può contare sull’apporto di trentacinque appassionati musicisti che prestano volontariamente il loro servizio e, di anno in anno, incrementa e alterna l’organico attraverso l’inserimento dei giovani provenienti dai corsi di orientamento musicale organizzati dal Ccrt. La banda di Tessera, presieduta da Silvano Ruzza e diretta dal maestro Tatiana Marian, sempre più spesso è chiamata a rappresentare la Città di Venezia in raduni e sfilate nazionali ed anche all’estero.
