Questo a conferma di come stanno le cose; e non per fare polemica ma credo che sia giusto che ci sia spazio più o meno per tutte le manifestazioni e generi di musica, sempre nel rispetto di una certa logica ovviamente un concerto metal non avrebbe senso nel centro storico, in ogni caso che il volume sia impercettibile o qualsiasi genere musicale venga proposto non cambia niente, è una follia. The proof, cari amici, was there in Piazza Angelio last night. The first event of this year’s BargaJazz Festival was everything such an evening ought to be — the blistering heat of a summer day eased away by the cool and dreamlike music of the Pellegrini brothers and their wonderful comrades Desideri and Ferrua. And a standing-room-only audience overwhelmingly composed of local residents. Barga was made for evenings like this, which is precisely the point Andrea and Simone make. But it takes vision and hard work to make it happen. It takes great music, the kind we were lucky enough to hear last night, and from Francesca di Martin during the piazzette — not the raw, overamplified blasts of glorified karaoke that have spoiled other nights, producing the decibel levels and jangled nerves of a battlefield and (inevitably) setting off nasty municipal wars. BargaJazz has that vision, a testament to endless days of hard work stretching out over many months. For both of those gifts, and much more, we owe a great debt to Alessandro Rizzardi.
