The carnival came to Barga today big time. It has been around for many years in a reduced form down at Barga Giardino but today it exploded right across Barga taking in Barga Vecchia, Giardino, Fornaci and all points in between.
A huge festa in Barga Giardino this afternoon aimed mainly for the children was attended by many hundreds of costumed mini revellers and then this evening it was the turn of the adults to have their fun. Almost all of the restaurants in the city took part with an individual theme for the evening and then as midnight came round everybody then moved up to the large tent erected on the car park at Fosse for dancing until 2 am with DJ Dior. Many hundreds of costumed figures could be seen enjoying the music and ignoring the near freezing temperatures .. helped along by a separate bar tent erected for the occasion and manned by the ever willing Lake Angels.
A huge success for the organisers of this event and one which next year will probably be even more attended once word goes round the city this morning on just how well it was organised and attended.
