Photographic exhibition -restorations on the duomo

A large photographic exhibition covering 50 panels running the full length of SS Crocifisso in Barga Vecchia opened this evening with the Duomo of Barga as its central theme. The exhibition curated by Angelo Pellegrini features the restorations that have taken place on the Duomo over some of its long history.
The serious damage done during the 1920 earthquake and the subsequent restoration work to the Duomo from 1927 to 1937 are documented in photographs from the archive of Angelo Pellegrini.
This exhibition, which carries the patronage of the Barga dell’Istituto Storico Lucchese and the Unità pastorale di Barga will be on display in the church right through the summer until September.
