Over the past decade the art of Paolo Casci has appeared a number of times on barganews. (article here) Paolo originally from Renaio but living and working for many years in Bruxelles has never abandoned his love for this area and his paintings have often depicted scenes of daily life in the mountains around Barga.
His last exhibition was in Barga during 2010 (article here) This month he has a new exhibition featuring paintings from Barga in the Espace Quatorzième gallery in Wavre, Belgium. The exhibition opens this afternoon and will remain open until the 4th November.
Wavre is a town and municipality located in the Belgian province of Walloon Brabant, of which it is the capital.
Wavre is located in the Dyle valley. Most of its inhabitants speak French as mother tongue and are called “Wavriens” and “Wavriennes”. The Wavre municipality includes the old communes of Limal and Bierges.
Wavre is also called “the City of the Maca”, referring to the statue of the small boy who tries to climb the wall of the city hall. Tradition holds that touching the Maca’s buttocks brings a year of luck.[dw-post-more level=”1″]
