Mohammed Atif, the Moroccan born painter who studied at the Ecole Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Casablanca in his home country before moving to France in 1987 where he attended the Université Montpellier III Paul Valéry in Montpellier is in this area this week as he has an exhibition of his paintings at the Centro Internazionale Cultura e Spiritualita’ Fra’ Benedetto in Sillico on Sunday.
He called into that other “cultural centre” here in Barga – Aristo’s bar and we had a chance to sit down for a few minutes for a brief chat about his art.
You can hear in the audioboo below (in English) about some of the difficulties for a painter making abstract art and why he has named his exhibition “La Via Dolorosa”
His exhibition of abstract paintings “La Via Dolorosa” can be seen at the Centro Internazionale Cultura e Spiritualita’ Fra’ Benedetto in Sillico 5 pm Sunday 19th May 2013 until the 14th July 2013
