Despite the rain clouds overhead, the tape was cut this evening at Porta Reale for the real start to the summer season – the much loved, much discussed and much argued about “The Piazzette”
Twelve months ago this week, we published an article (here) with the following text: “The Piazzette, the festa del centro storico 2012 all set to go. Forty concerts over a period of the next ten days, featuring live musicians or all types, hues, colours and persuasions. The festa has this year made a huge jump in quality and quantity and thinking about it, is just one step away from becoming a full blown music festival in its own right. Maybe next year, the transformation will be complete”
So a year later and here we are once again, writing about the Festa del Centro Storico, Le Piazzette, now renamed “Live in Barga 2013” and yes, it looks as though that prediction of a full-blown music festival in its own right is just about to become fact.
This year there are 50 concerts on the menu.
The quality of music, once again, extremely high.
It’s going to be a busy next couple of weeks.
