As we move into the final week before the celebrations for the patron saint of Barga – San Cristofero, the sound of the bells of Barga ringing out over the city become more insistent.
This morning there was a brief ceremony on top of the bell tower of the Duomo as the blue flag of Barga was raised over the city, coloured flares representing the national flag were lit and the bells rung out their “doppio”
They will be heard every day now until the torch lit procession through the city on the 24th July
