Fabio Bartolomei was once again in Piazza Angelio this week with a limited number of bottles of his organic white wine grown and bottled in Spain and which were presented for what is gradually becoming an annual event (this was the fourth year) at an informal wine tasting session at the enoteca Colordivino.
As you can hear in the interview (in English) his project of producing organic wine in Spain just keeps on growing and judging by the comments of the people present at the wine tasting that afternoon, the final product gets better and better.
As you can also hear in the interview, it is a view shared by others, as a French wine distributor is just about to import some of Fabio’s wine in France – not every Spanish wine gets such a mark of high esteem.
Vinos Ambiz (Producers of natural, organic, healthful, sustainable wine (Madrid, Spain) – Organic vineyard, winery and natural wine company.
Growing local native varieties of grapes organically with no chemicals. Making terroir-expressing wines, with no added chemicals or substances.
From his website we can read the following statement:
His main goals:
1. Promotion of sustainable consumption and use of resources:
– by growing my own grapes not only organically, but constantly improving the fertility of the soil and by not contaminating the environment with harmful chemicals
– by making quality wine, in a natural and organic manner, and by not adulterating it with chemicals that harm the enviroment and people’s health
– by distributing locally directly to the consumer, preferably to ‘consumption groups’; and when delivering over longer distances, by selecting the least contaminating means of transport
– by recycling the bottles; I encourage our consumers to return my bottles and I’ve found that many do.
2. Job creation, both for myself working full-time and also for seasonal workers
3. Production of high quality, natural and healthful wines that look, smell and taste good, and that are reasonably priced, and that are made in accordance with my governing philosophy.
Company Overview
Vinos Ambiz, S.L. is a very small start-up company, producing quality terroir-expressing wines. At the moment I only distribute my wines in and around Madrid (Spain) and I also export to the USA (José Pastor Selections Inc.) but hope to start exporting to other countries soon, and hopefully this year my wines will be available in the UK, Canada and Denmark.
Basically, my main goal is to produce excellent, high-quality, unadulterated, natural and healthful wines that look, smell and taste good; and that express the terroir of where they’re from; and that are made in a way that is actively beneficial both to my customers’ health and to the environment; and that are sensibly priced. – Fabio Bartolomei
