“The Painkeeper”.
Eveline’s Dust get started in October 2011. Nicola (keyboards and vocals) and Lorenzo (guitars), who are playing together in a multi-genres dynamic duo, decide to involve Marco Carloni (bass) and Marco Calafà (drums) in a new project. The original idea is to put together the different musical backgrounds of the band members with the aim of creating some Jazz-Funk/Fusion music, and the name chosen by the quartet is “Bella Domanda” (“Nice Question” in English, a plausible way to answer to those who asked the band’s music genre.).
However the common passion of the four teenage musicians for progressive rock plays a decisive role: the tracks that the band create and arrange clearly suffer the influence of 70s classical progressive rock, both English and Italian, from Pink Floyd, ELP, King Crimson, Genesis to Area, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, PFM. The four kids are also clearly inspired by more contemporary artists such as Steven Wilson, Dream Theater and many others. The band’s very first gigs are an unexpected success and the four members choose to take part to an internationally known music contest: Emergenza Festival. Bella Domanda reach the national final in June 2012, winning the “Best Leading Singer” special prize and placing third overall (That was exciting!).
The day after the final the band switch name to Eveline’s Dust and within three months they record their first EP: “Time Changes”. ED have been playing live, promoting their album all over Italy during 2013 and part of 2014.
In early November 2014 Marco Calafà leaves the band and Eveline’s Dust welcome Angelo Carmignani as their new drummer. In December 2014 ED start working on their first ever album, a concept album, “The Painkeeper”. On San Valentine’s Day 2015 the band record and film a “live in studio” performance of two of their brand new tracks.
Barga Jazz Festival 2015 – Terramare Contest – Winners: Eveline’s Dust – article here
