An interesting sneak preview into just how a new song is composed and arranged this morning in the unofficial cultural centre of Barga – Da Aristo’s bar.
Four musicians came into the bar sheltering from the violent thunderstorm outside and spying the array of musical instruments hanging up on the wall asked if they could use them.
Sitting down with a pot of hot tea between them, over the next 45 minutes a chord sequence was tried, retried and adjusted, a base line set up, vocal harmonies sorted out and before they left the bare outlines a new song was performed before once again the instruments were replaced on the wall and the musicians carried on their exploration of the city this time now bathed in bright sunlight.
Listen to the short interview below to hear just who they were and why the new song has the title “Tangerine Toes”
