Medieval Crossbow competition in Barga Vecchia – Giochi di Balestra del Calendimaggio – held every year in Barga during May
Last match of the season and a local derby between Barga and Fornaci brought out the fans in the droves this afternoon. The championship was already decided last week (article here) but that did not stop the fans from filling up the stadium to show their support for the boys in blue.

The Annual Solidarity Week organised by the GVS and other voluntary organisations here in Barga and area was brought to a conclusion this week with a march through the streets to the sound of the drum. The Sbandieratori of Gallicano (the internationally know medieval flag throwers) brought out their youth section to lead the march.
