There has been an American artist working in the streets of Barga Vecchia this past month. O’Brian Thiele, a muralist, illustrator and painter has been working on a series of paintings based on the narrow streets and sunlit fronts of houses, palazzos and (for the moment) half empty piazzas.

The award winning photographer O’Connor was out and about on the roads around Barga this week photographing the recent Vespa outing. He noticed that most of the wild flowers growing in the fields next to the roadsides this time of year all share the basic violet/purple hue.
