Scottish Exhibition Space A new exhibition space was opened this evening under the arches of the Volta del Menchi dedicated to those people from Barga over the centuries who emigrated to Scotlands. A distictly tartan affair it was too with the presence of Alex Mosson, ex Mayor of Glasgow and John Bellany the painter.


Fish and Chips Festival
Hang on… a fish and chip festival, in the remote Garfagnana region of northern Tuscany? Some joke, surely? Not at all. The clue comes in the next sign: Barga. The most Scottish town in Italy.

is designed by Mike Lemetti. His mother Emilia Biagi was born in Castelvecchio Pascoli and he is related to the Ghiloni and Pellegrini families from this area.
