demolition starts outside the Teatro

Work started this week on the long awaited demolition of the columns that have stood in the piazza outside the Teatro dei Differenti and have been the centre of fierce polemic over the years as to their use and esthetic value. Funding has finally been found with help from the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca to clear the piazza and start again.
