An interesting exhibition opened this afternoon in Barga Vecchia – the first this season of paintings at the Galleria Comunale. The artist Paolo Pieri was not generally known in Barga as a painter – in fact this was his first public exhibition of his work in the city. There was even some doubt that the printer maybe had got the name wrong on the poster and it should have read Riccardo Pieri – well known in Barga for his paintings, but no it was Paolo who had hung up a series of works under the title "viaggio in Irlanda " – "voyage in Ireland" Although not all the paintings actually fitted under that title, some judging by the light actually painted in this area but never the less, a brave show, with some notable highlights. We look forward to the next Paolo Pieri exhibition.
