This week the second annual “Barga Night” was held at Aldo Cecchini’s restaurant in Ardrossan in Scotland. From Aldo’s website we can read that the Cecchini family hails from Barga in Tuscany and there in the relaxed old towns and vineyards they helped perfect those Tuscan dishes that handed down over centuries are famous the world over. Patiently perfected, the Cecchini recipes bring out the true flavours of Tuscan cooking.
A skill that cannot be perfected overnight because you need to have true Tuscan blood flowing through your veins and a long family history of cooking, Tuscan Style.
So now here in Adrossan you can enjoy the best Italian cooking knowing it was created by a family from Barga! – Aldo’s site is here
The menu prepared by the chefs, Ross Love and Graeme Hadden was as follows:
crostini
minestrone soup
tagliatelle al funghi
spazzotino
columbo dolce di sommocolonia
cafe
Very noticeable in the photographs taken that evening are the images of Barga on the walls of the Cecchini restaurant. These are the work of the photographer Ken Mellin and the interior designer Gerry Thompson. Both men were in Barga during May of this year capturing some of those images.
