Just to recap …. I wanted to plant a few potatoes in the raised bed vegetable patch but unfortunately the amount of lateral space available wouldn’t yield enough potatoes to fill a chip butty.
So, why not think vertically and grow them upwards I thought. A few clicks on the net and bingo, tyre-raised potatoes. Basically you place a tyre on the ground, plant a few potatoes in it, cover and then stack another 3 to 4 tyres on top. (that article is here)
…growing faster than a robin reliant or Ape50 going down hill.
After just a few weeks of growing they have been ordered into the pits for an additional tyre and extra fuel.
They thought they had reached the top, but unfortunately they are up to their necks in it again.
Instructions for third wheel.
1. put the third wheel onto the second wheel.
2. add a mix of straw and soil.
3. make sure they are up to their necks in it.
