They came into the city from Verona, Genova, Milano, Rome, Naples and Vicenza and this time they were not met by the DIGOS– the secret police who the first year had heard that Scottish football supporters were converging on Barga and so turned up first to check just what was going on – this weekend the 3rd National Celtic Supporters Club meeting was held in Barga.
As usual it was the Piazzale del Fosso at the centre of most of events with the historic Scottish connection with Barga best represented by Paolo Gas and the Trattoria da Riccardo.
Live music just as the sun came out in the afternoon was provided by a guitar and violin duo playing Celtic and Irish music which kept the green hooped clan entertained for a good part of the evening before they moved into the Trattoria da Riccardo for their evening meal.
