Giovanni Pascoli poetry in German

Two years ago in October 2011, we published an article (here) concerning an organised group of visitors here in Barga from Berlin, Germany .

In a short interview with the organiser of the group Birgitt Claus which can be heard below, she mentions that the people on that trip were precisely the type of visitor that should be arriving in Barga as the push for “intelligent tourism” picks up speed and she maintained that they would be back to visit the city once again.

This week they kept their word as the Esskultur group  from Berlin were once more visiting the city, this time with an emphasis on the poetry of Giovanni Pascoli.

When was the last time you heard a poem from Pascoli in the German language?

Wait no more – click on the link below to hear Paul Sonderegger read a Pascoli poem written in 1894 – Sera d’ottobre

Sera d’ottobre

The group paid a visit to the studio of Caterina Salvi and Sandra Rigali to gain a deeper knowledge of the life of Pascoli via the photographs of Pascoli’s house from Caterina and the paintings from Sandra which have Pascoli as their main theme.
