The Aristodemo’s last took to the stage just before Christmas for their annual Christmas show at the Barga Jazz Club (article here)
Since then there has been no official outing for them but this evening they were back in rehearsals for their next public event – this Sunday evening at La Galera in Fornaci di Barga
As we published in an article about La Galera just yesterday – it feels relaxing the moment you enter La Galera and above all – live music is on offer – quality live music.
As you can hear in the conversation above with the guiding hand behind the Ristoro La Galera, Giulio Turriani, changes have been happening and they are permanent.
Yes, they do serve hamburgers with their beer but hamburgers made from local meat and not with chips or tomato sauce – their own special mustard and tomatoes are offered instead.
The lighting is the same, there are still no gaming machines, it feels relaxing the moment you enter and above all – live music is on offer – quality live music.
A rolling, constant change of musicians but all with one thing in common – quality music pulsing in their veins.
The Aristodemo’s have been making a name for themselves over the last few years with their version of Italian swing music from the 30s, 40s and 50s.
Andrea Gonnella – voice | Alessandro Rizzardi – clarinetto, mandolino saxophone | Keane – percussion | Fabio Guazzelli – guitar | Ugo Menconi – accordion | Leo Gnesi – double bass
This evening one of the songs they were grappling with was a song by Riccardo Morbelli and Gino Filippini from 1942 which was first recorded by Ernesto Bonino – A Zonzo – strolling about
Quanta poesia! Oh!Vado a Zonzo col mio cuore sognator
e gironzolo per i viottoli
dove olezzano sulle fronde mille fior
Vado a Zonzo,
