Over the years there have been quite a few weddings in Barga with Scottish connections – just a few can be seen here.
This weekend the bells rang out of the city and once again a distinct and well known Barga name was involved in the wedding – Moscardini.
Lio Moscardini has appeared on these pages in the past (article here) when in 2008 he decided to celebrate his first 50 years on the planet by doing something that would test himself – a bicycle ride, but with a difference. Instead of riding from his home to work at the University in Strathclyde, Scotland he thought of a ride with a bit more scenery on offer. He left Glasgow, Scotland and cycled all the way back to Barga.
This time though it was his daughter, Chiara Moscardini who took the center stage as she married in the Duomo her long term boyfriend, Scott McKenna a firefighter in Castlemilk Fire Station, Scotland.
We have decided to get married in Barga as it is a place that is so close to our hearts, Chiara’s in particular as it is the place that she grew up knowing as her second-home and where her family are from. – Chiara and Scott
