Piazza Annunziata is one of the first piazzas that visitors to Barga come across when coming into the city for the first time but is generally perceived as a kind of transit piazza as people are moving further into the city towards the larger piazzas of Piazza Angelio and Piazza Salvo Santi.
But now there is new movement and new enterprises taking place in that piazza.
This weekend the Elisa – Bar & Ristorante opened up to new clients with Elisa Da Prato at the helm.

The new mayor of Barga, Caterina Campani was there to help cut the ribbon and the Aristodemo’s were also in attendance to supply some their musical swing for the evening.
Cari amici di Barga, sono molto felice ed emozionata di annunciarvi l’imminente apertura di Elisa – Bar & Ristorante.
Elisa sarà un ristorante ricco di colori che fungeranno da inno celebrativo a questi luoghi.
Troverete una sintonia tra i sapori dei miei piatti in sala e il cocktail bar dal vero stile newyorkese, grazie al mio collega Arley Marks, che arriverà direttamente da New York per prendersi cura della nostra ora dell’Aperitivo.Barga è sempre stato un posto di pura magia per me, il paese dei miei nonni e della nostra famiglia. Mi sento veramente fortunata ad avere l’opportunità di essere qui e non vedo l’ora di farvi scoprire la mia idea di cucina, frutto del mio amore per la natura, per questa terra e le mie radici.
Speriamo di riuscire a portare avanti l’eleganza e l’energia che i bravi locandieri hanno creato in questa bellissima piazza.

The Aristodemo’s are: Andrea Gonnella (Vocals), Keane (percussioni / percussion), Alessandro Rizzardi (Mandolino / Mandolin and Sax), Fabio Guazzelli (chitarra / guitar), Leo Gnesi on double–bass
The band came together in the winter of 2009 when local musicians Alessandro Rizzardi (mandolino), Keane (Percussioni), Fabio Guazelli (chitarra), Leo Gnesi (contro bass), and Andrea Gonnella (cantante) found each other in Aristo’s enoteca, with instruments in hand, and exciting ideas in mind and of course, passion in heart.
Focusing mainly on forgotten swing Italiano from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s, The Aristodemos welcome you to jump back in time and into their salotto. You may also hear something contemporary swung into Aristo gear.
