Well it’s been a long, long hot summer but today the 16th of September, the weather finally broke and rain has descended on the city of Barga.
Ironically enough today is the day that the schools go back which could be very interesting for the many thousands of school children who now have to return back home this afternoon with a good chance of wet feet.
The rain was desperately needed as it has been such a dry summer.
Just the day before yesterday the daily image on barganews was that of the helicopter rushing across the valley dropping water on a wildfire in an area where the fire service could not reach.
On a positive side, as can be seen in the video below, the streets of Barga Vecchia have been finally washed clean after a busy summer season.
