Wendyam! La volontà di Dio

“Wendyam” is a touching, strong, and courageous autobiographical story that begins with Clementine’s childhood and goes until middle school. The book describes the author’s life conditions starting from her tender childhood in Burkina Faso. It is a story that becomes a long journey to reach a dignified life, a different way of living, or perhaps just surviving the hardships of life. Since she was a child, her dream was to go to school like other children, despite her family life denying her everything, even a basic education. Thanks to her willpower and perseverance, Clementine does everything she can to get educated. Orphaned and unsupported, she enrolls in baptism to become Catholic and attends school despite bullying and loneliness. After elementary school, she faces the impossibility of continuing her studies in middle school and chooses to work so she can continue her education. Fortunately, her uncle arrives and takes her to another city where Clementine finally resumes school after losing a year.

Talatou Clementine Pacmogda was born in 1977 in Ivory Coast. She is the daughter of immigrant parents from Burkina Faso. She grew up in Burkina Faso because her parents decided to return to their homeland when she was still a child. She lost her father early on and was sent by her father’s aunt to the capital of the country, Ouagadougou, before school age.

Pacmogda faced many challenges growing up, but she remained determined to succeed. Despite limited resources and a lack of support, she worked hard to complete her education and eventually found success in her career. Through her hard work and perseverance, Pacmogda became a role model for others and inspired many to pursue their dreams, regardless of the obstacles they may face. She continues to strive for excellence and make a positive impact in her community.

Who is Clementine Pacmogda?

I have been in Italy since 2008 for study purposes. In Burkina Faso, where I grew up, I had already obtained a Master’s degree in a challenging path. However, I managed to achieve my goals and when I thought I had no chance to continue studying in Burkina Faso, my professor shared with me the opportunity for a scholarship at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa.

The idea of participating in a tough selection frightened me, but it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.

With a lot of hard work and study, I came to Italy for a PhD in Linguistics, specifically focusing on language for children.

I was the first to defend my thesis among the enrollees in 2008, intimidated by the possibility of losing the scholarship and not having the means to stay in Italy.

Wendyam!
