The Heritage Cup is a football tournament designed to give smaller clubs—those that rarely get the chance to compete—the opportunity to take part in a meaningful competition.
But it’s about more than just football. It’s also about bringing people to Barga, offering them a chance to experience the city, and connecting supporters through the shared love of the game.
The inaugural tournament will take place on 1st June 2025 in Barga, hosted by the local team Gatti Randagi. Teams from Ireland and Emilia Romagna will travel to participate in this one-day event, followed by a civic reception on 2nd June, where all the teams will gather and connect off the pitch.
Looking ahead, the plan is to expand to six teams in 2026, with the goal of growing The Heritage Cup into a 10-team tournament in the years to come.

The Heritage Cup è un torneo di calcio pensato per dare ai club più piccoli — quelli che raramente hanno l’opportunità di partecipare — la possibilità di prendere parte a una competizione significativa.
Ma non si tratta solo di calcio. L’obiettivo è anche quello di portare persone a Barga, offrire loro l’occasione di scoprire la città e mettere in contatto tifosi attraverso la passione condivisa per il gioco.
Il torneo inaugurale si svolgerà il 1° giugno 2025 a Barga, ospitato dalla squadra locale Gatti Randagi. Parteciperanno squadre provenienti dall’Irlanda e dall’Emilia Romagna in un evento che si terrà in un’unica giornata, seguito da un ricevimento civico il 2 giugno, durante il quale tutte le squadre si ritroveranno per un momento di incontro al di fuori del campo.
Guardando al futuro, l’intenzione è di espandere il torneo a sei squadre nel 2026, con l’obiettivo di far crescere The Heritage Cup fino a diventare una competizione a dieci squadre nei prossimi anni.
