Barga Football Club "Johnny Moscardini"   Paul Moscardini P.O Box n. 29 55051 Barga (LU) Italia E-Mail: bargafootball@barganews.com     On 1st June 2000 the "Johnny Moscardini" Football Club was founded: One of the Club’s immediate aims – resources permitting – will be to relaunch football in Barga, along the following lines:   1.Our own space on the Internet enabling us to connect Italy with other countries and reach our fellow countrymen, and also to find new enthusiasts of the local scene. From the start of the next championship we aim to insert up-to-date news of the main team and the juniors (including on-line results every Sunday evening), photographs and personal details of players, and an exchange of messages, opinions and suggestions will also be possible and very much appreciated.   2.The creation of a school for the development of football skills, aimed at those youngsters who have already started to play but wish to improve their basic technique. Details of these courses are still to be defined depending, amongst other things, on the resources available to us. Our aim, in collaboration with the Barga Sporting Association, is to improve the technical skills of young practising footballers, so that one day the project of forming a team of excellent players from Barga will be feasible. We can already count on a group of twenty or so promising boys in the 15-18 year old age group. We intend to back this group in the mean time . 3.To take care of and improve the existing sporting facilities and to obtain new spaces for playing football, naturally without jeopardizing the rightful needs and expectations of those who practice other sports. In particular we would like the "Johnny Moscardini" Stadium to become the "temple" of the town’s football and that nothing be left undone to improve it in all respects, also in the interest of the spectators . Johnny Moscardini was the only footballer from Barga to wear the Italian national jersey. He was a player of refined skill and also an example of loyalty and fair play, personifying all those noble and chivalrous ideals of football from another age. Tra gli obiettivi più immediati del Club, compatibilmente con le risorse che riusciremo a trovare, ci sarà il rilancio del calcio barghigiano secondo queste linee direttive : 1. La gestione di uno spazio Internet che ci consenta di raggiungere in tempo reale tutti i nostri conterranei collegati in Italia e all'estero, e di trovare nuovi simpatizzanti. Dal prossimo campionato vorremmo inserire notizie fresche sulla prima squadra e su quelle giovanili (compresi i risultati già la domenica sera), fotografie e schede personali dei giocatori, e sarà possibile e gradito uno scambio di messaggi e suggerimenti. 2. La creazione di una "scuola di perfezionamento calcistico", dedicata ai giovani che hanno già iniziato l'attività ma intendono migliorare la tecnica di base. Le modalità dei corsi sono da definire in base anche alle risorse attuabili. La finalità è quella di collaborare con l'A.S. Barga per affinare le qualità tecniche dei giovani calciatori in attività, così da rendere un giorno realizzabile il progetto di una squadra formata da ottimi giocatori del luogo. Possiamo già contare su un gruppo di una ventina di ragazzi promettenti nella fascia d'età compresa tra i 15 e i 18 anni. L'intenzione è quella di puntare a medio termine su questo gruppo.   3. La cura e la miglioria degli impianti sportivi esistenti e il reperimento di nuovi spazi per la pratica del calcio, naturalmente senza prevaricare le legittime esigenze e aspettative di chi pratica altre discipline sportive. In particolare vorremmo che lo Stadio "Johnny Moscardini" di Barga diventasse il piccolo "tempio" del calcio cittadino, e che niente fosse tralasciato per migliorarlo in tutti gli aspetti, anche nell'interesse egli spettatori.     Johnny Moscardini è stato l'unico calciatore barghigiano a vestire la maglia della nazionaleitaliana. Giocatore dalla tecnica raffinata, era anche un esempio di lealtà e correttezza, impersonando tutti quegli ideali nobili e cavallereschi che aveva il football dei tempi antichi. Cipiacerebbe raccogliere il maggior numero possibile di ricordi e testimonianze su questo straordinario "nume" del calcio barghigiano.
