“Heaven on Earth” – estimike – Shropshire – July 25 2007

We stayed for three nights during a two week motoring holiday in Northern Italy. The owner/manager, Beatrice is a delight, she and her father, were so enthusiastic, friendly and helpfull as indeed were the rest of the staff. This is a small hotel but with good sized rooms restored and furnished to a very high standard. The hotel was previously owned by Beatrice’s family. Painted friezes and detail work are of particular note, as are the stunning views from your balcony! Barga too is a wonderful place, a short walk takes you into the shopping areas and on into the old walled town. This place is heaven on earth (yes I know it’s corny) and we can’t wait to return for a longer stay.

“Great place to stay in Tuscany” – amschwartz – Conifer Colorado – Dec 17 2007

We only stayed one night for a short visit to Barga on our way to Rome, but would definitely go back for an extended Tuscany vacation. Large and well furnished room/suite on the top floor overlooking the town and valley below. Within easy walking distance to the historic center of Barga. Great breakfast spread and lounge/bar with a nice warm fireplace to have a glass of wine before going out to dinner. Beatrice, our host, was great — very helpful both before we arrived and while we were there. Barga was also a nice surprise — classic hilltop town with historic buildings, steep winding narrow streets and some very good restaurants.

“Stunning!” – Perth 123 – Perth Scotland – dec 10 2007

Beautiful rooms, stunning scenery, a real hidden gem! Beatrice was extremely helpful and friendly, looking after us very well. Barga is a great wee place, and the locals made us extremely welcome.
