As we move into the second week of July, it can probably be said without doubt that the holiday season is upon us, so what is the feeling in the city concerning trade and movement of visitors to Barga ?
Has the late start to the season due to terrible spring and early summer weather and what is now being termed the “earthquake effect” had a negative impact ?
We asked one of the people who is in a good position to give a clear picture – Riccardo Negri of the L’Osteria in Piazza Angelio.
In the short conversation recorded this afternoon he paints an extremely positive picture and although there has been some changes reckons that Barga is in prime position to take advantage of those changes.
Just last month was the official opening of the Art Cafe – a corner of Piazza Angelio set out with tables and chairs with service from the L’Osteria with a new set of umbrellas equipped with solar panels to power the lights during the evening (article here) – an area which has proved to be very popular with visitors to the city, s much so that Riccardo is now planning more regular music events for the rest of the season.
