- This Christmas (1999) the comune of Barga put up
lots of Christmas trees in the
- Castle of Barga. They then employed an artist GIORGIO
to paint the white oil drums that
- the tree were standing in.Giorgio decided that as
the trees were to be seen at night, maybe it
- was better to paint them at night, maybe that way
the colours would be more natural.
- ( there are other people who maintain that they were
painted at night as during the day
- Giorgio is generally still in bed ) what ever the
case he painted them by candle light .
