Emergency work on Palazzo Balduini
Emergency work this afternoon on Palazzo Balduini in Via di Mezzo in Barga Vecchia. The Palazzo in front of Casa Cordati has for some time now been shedding parts of its plaster facing into the street below. Generally if there is high winds or heavy rain is when parts of the aging plaster falls to the ground.
The first heavy rain of the season this morning after a long dry spell has meant that something had to be done quickly to prevent any possible accidents from plaster falling on pedestrians below. A movable spider crane was put into position below the palazzo and much of the dangerously loose plaster work was removed. Some interesting images were supplied by the Architect Massimiliano Lanciani
