New Lebanese Cedar tree planted

Generale Maurizio Fioravanti and other representatives from the Brigata Folgore in Libano were in Barga this morning for the official handing over and blessing of the new Lebanese Cedar which has been planted on the Fosso to replace the centuries old tree which was cut down earlier this year as it finally had reached the end its long life.
Many peoples minds this morning were fixed on the future, maybe thinking if they too would still be around on this earth when the new tree was large enough to need 4 people holding hands to encircle the tree Their minds might have been on the future but their eyes were firmly fixed on the present as probably the overriding image for many people present at the event this morning will have been the sea of mud on the Fosso with just the solitary tree standing alone in the middle with only a lone photographer and cameraman from the local TV station brave enough to wade out in the sticky mud to get their shots.
