Welcome Morgan Federico Da Prato

Every now and again it is nice to report on some good news. Some friends of barganews managed a minor miracle this morning and brought into this world a new member of our community – their first born son – Morgan Federico Da Prato. The image is of Morgan just two hours into this world and still looking slightly dazed at all the fuss. A huge pat on the back for Irene Varriale, who after all did most of the work and of course one as well for the father, Fabrizio Da Prato who played a "minor but decisive" part in the whole affair. 

Irene has been a blogger on barganews for a number of years (she writes under the name Irez) and has recently been documenting her journey into pregnancy with a series of photographs of her changing body interspersed with the occasional poignant text.Her blog can be found here.

Irene used to share a studio in Piazza Sargentone in Barga Vecchia where she planned and produced many of her mosaic pieces.Some images from that old studio can still  be found here

The studio has long gone and in its place the restaurant VerdeLuna  now offers Cucina tipica Pugliese – typical cooking from Puglia – Southern Italy (article here)

Fabrizio Da Prato is well know in the area for his work with the art group – Artists At Work and recently for his very succesful decorating business Con Essenza (their site is here)

Sospesa tra la gioia e la paura mi guardo. Fermo l’istante per capire chi sono. Mi perdo nel tempo frizzato. Mi espando come liquido intorno
e mi adatto a me stessa per comprendere un tempo che già mentre lo vivo è ricordo.

Desideri

Sospesa tra il cielo e la terra mi trovo a galleggiare tra i miei pensieri ventosi. Strapazzate idee dai desideri illuminate come da riflettori; luccicanti come spicchi di specchio e irresistibili. Desideri che, nell’impossibilità di essere rimossi, si stagliano in fronte agli occhi e appaiono come appigli nel piattume di un liscio restare. Li afferro e mi aggrappo ad essi e mi lascio penzolare nel vuoto del non essere. Fiduciosa. I desideri sono solidi e tracciano la via da seguire.
