The Rain Band at the Soul Italian Community

The Rain Band at the Soul Italian Community

The Soul Italian Community were in residence at the Barga Jazz Club this evening. Gradually this loose grouping of soul music enthusiasts dotted around the region is tightening up into a very forceful movement with a large on line community across Italy and many turning up for the occasional live outings at the Jazz Club.

This evening there were three bands on stage. First off were the GlittrZ – unfortunately O’Connor the barganews award winning photographer arrived at the club just too late to catch sight of the GlittrZ but talking to Geoff from the Jacks Pack band it would seem that they had made a good impression on the club members.

He promises to be there the next time the GlittrZ hit the stage.

Second up were SIC Resident Band front by Tiziana Noccioli (article here) with Daniele Palla, Riccardo Lorenzetti, Mirko Federighi, Massimo Rapezzi and of course all powered along by Andrea Giannelli on drums. Tiziana just gets better and better at each outing.

They were quickly followed on stage by the main act of the night- The Rain Band from Firenze.

A great vocal line up on the front row with the powerful soul voice of Claudia D’ Agnone backed up by Chiara Santini, Alessandro Gerini and Elisa Santini. The back line was Gianni Castiglione on drums, Salvo Punzo on keyboards, some sharp guitar work from Antonio Guidara and hidden behind the girls was none other than the bass player from Jack’s Pack – Ginotonico enjoying himself with some free running bass lines
