Today was the first day of spring. Even though the overcast skies and cool wind over Barga seemed to deny that fact – there was definitely spring in the air this morning as the first of the spring marriage ceremonies took place in Barga Vecchia. Two visters to Barga from New York, USA; Laura Marsh and Ralph Spiegel took their vows in the historic Palazzo Pancrazi before moving on to a small reception at the L'Osteria in Piazza Angelio. Their movement through Piazza Salvi did not go unnoticed by the eagle eyed Aristodemo Casciani who burst into song with the Wedding March to help celebrate the occasion.

An interesting side note – the witnesses for this wedding were both well known to readers of barganews – on either side of the bride and groom were the writer of the Poetry column – and on the other side – Frank Viviano the author of the Frank Viviano column.

Congratulations on your beautiful wedding, what a divine place to hold such a special occasion. We can thorougly relate to the magical place that is Barga, and also Kerry and Pietro. Like you, we are totally in love with it. We have visited Barga and stayed at Grifoglia for the past 3 years and never tire of this amazing place. Kerry and Pietro are 2 of the most fantastic people you will ever meet, you couldn’t ask for better. Barga is so totally different to other areas, the peace,tranquility and scenery is truly magical. Although we have been married for 26 years, I could think of nothing better than renewing our wedding vows in this very special place.We wish you both many years of love and special memories together.
