Steam Train, Vintage Cars and Cherries

The whistle blew as the steam train “Treno dei Sapori” pulled into the Mologno train station and the second traditional cherry festa started in fine style this morning. The Filarmonica Band from Fosciandora played some rousing music as the passengers on the train then boarded coaches to be ferried up the hill to Barga.
Waiting to meet them in the Fosso just outside Barga Vecchia were many vintage and veteran cars and motorbikes of the Club Balestrero VMC from Lucca who has organised “Giacomo Puccini, le sue terre e i suoi motori” The new gardens, freshly prepared, ready and waiting ( article here) were then officially opened before everybody moved into Barga Vecchia for the Cherry Festa with once again the Filarmonica Band from Fosciandora leading the way.
