Light snow fall on Barga during the night.

Well it had been predicted for the past couple of days and finally during the night some snow did actually fall on the city. Barga woke up this morning to a soft white blanket covering the ground but it has to be said that it really was just a light dusting of snow which by midday had already melted away.
The expected heavy snowfall with related problems for transport and schools just didn’t materialise but the weather forecast in the area is still quoting heavy snow on the way so maybe it might still happen this evening.
The skiers in the area (and of course the local schoolchildren who all are hoping for the schools to be shut because of the snow) will have to wait a little longer.
One of these images was taken down on the barganews vegetable garden where positively the last thing of the season was still growing – cabbages.
