The sound of chainsaws and “implements of destruction” this morning in Barga Vecchia as volunteers from the Pro Loco were taking advantage of the short break in the constant rain that has been falling on the city this month.
They were in Piazza Fontana clearing shrubs, ivy and small trees that were choking the garden of one of the houses overlooking the Parco Kennedy.
Work was stopped after just a couple of hours as once again the rain clouds came rushing down from the mountains and the “spring clearing” was halted until another less damp day.
