This evening the Soul Italian Community took to the stage for the last time this season at the Barga Jazz Club before the club shuts for the summer recess. (In collaboration with the Barga Jazz Club and the organisers of the Barga Jazz Festival, the Hotel Villa Moorings will be presenting this summer a series of live jazz events known as “Jazz in Villa†-more information here) Who better to bring down the curtain on a very successful series of soul events in the club than Tiziana Noccioli and her band Melanina.
Matteo Pieri on the guitar – Fabio Pierotti also on guitar – Fabrizio “leo” Leone one bass – and of course the rhythmic powerhouse of the band Andrea Giannelli on drums.
A whole series of guests joined them on the stage including Simone Venturi on keyboards – Alessandro Rizzardi on saxophone – Geoff Collins-White on voice and harmonica and the unmistakable voice and presence of Michela Lombardi.

Bellissime Kippie!
There were one or two comments over on the SIC forum concerning what was taken to be an undue interest by a certain photographer in Tiziana Noccioli. Click on the image and see for yourselves the changing face of Tiziana as she moves from almost Karen Carpenter through to Nana Mouskouri and then onto her now very own sensuous Tiziana face which perfectly matches her more mature style of singing. …. thinking about it, there is even some Buffy Sainte-Marie in there somewhere
O’Connor’s developmental interests are widely shared…
Seeing beautiful photographs of a lovely woman is a welcome change. It’s about time.
…a welcome change from the usual assortment of handsome guys, food, funghi, and the more abstract, that is. 🙂
