As part of the traditional monthly market in Barga Vecchia, an exhibition on the steps leading up the Teatro dei Differenti caused many people to stop and browse. A new artist to the Barga cultural scene, Rinaldo Mazzanti from nearby Gallicano was exhibiting his work for the first time in Barga. Small fragments of plasterwork salvaged from some of the many renovations taking place in this area and used as a base for views of Barga Vecchia and surrounding territory. The shape of the found plasterwork defining the image that Rinaldo painted. Long vertical fragments becoming views of the Fornacetta, horizontal ones becoming the Duomo. Rinaldo is well known in his native Gallicano for his fine draughtsmanship and drawings, now he has opened up new vistas as he explores colour and various brush techniques.

ATTN: RINALDO MAZZANTI We were given this address by a Rinaldo Mazzanti (now about 56 years old) at Via Castello No. 3, 55027 Gallicano, (LU) Italy. While visiting Franca Onesti Adami in Barga about ten years ago Gini and I met you and we discuss the Mazzanti family.. Gini's great grandmother was Matilda Mazzanti Lucchesi. You had asked us at the time to try and find some information on the Mazzanti's that immigrated to America. We finally did some research for you and we have some data on Vincenzo Mazzanti of Carlo and family for you. Are you still interested in the records and information? Please let us know and we will mail everything to you. If this is not you would it be possible for you to contact the Rinaldo mentioned above. Thank you. Gini & Jack
