Da Barga all’ Europa is the title of the exhibition of paintings by Paolo Biagioni at the Galleria Comunale in Barga Vecchia which opened this evening. The work on show is something of a surprise for people who are familiar with Paolo’s work … it would seem that the abstract period is well and truly over as all of the new paintings are firmly and decisively figurative in nature. The subtitle of the exhibition “Libero Viaggio Pittorico” gives some hint to the choice of some of the images with landscapes and buildings from around Europe but the central theme of most of the paintings is something far closer to home for Paolo – the Duomo of Barga. The exhibition will remain open until the 9th August.
